Policies
Our policies are designed to enable effective communication between WFA and our prospective course participants. Please read these policies before registering for a course.
Registration
Course Registration forms should be received by WFA no later than 21 days prior to the course date. If less than 21 days remain prior to a class you are interested in, contact WFA via phone or email for availability. WFA reserves the right to deny training for any individual for any reason. In the event that a registration is not approved, the full course fee (less background check fees if applicable) will be promptly refunded.
Tuition
Course tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration. Payment can be made via Paypal, money order, or personal check included with the registration.
Background Check
The background check policy does not apply to individuals registering for First Steps and Basic courses or non-firearm related courses. This policy applies to individuals registering for any intermediate or advanced firearms courses only.
Additionally, this requirement is waived for individuals who submit a copy of a valid Georgia Firearms License with their registration form. WFA will conduct a criminal background check on individuals without a valid Georgia Firearms License / Carry Permit as part of the registration process one-time per calendar year. Individuals will need to complete the Criminal Record Release Authorization form and a non-refundable $25 processing fee, payable to Women for Arms, will be charged for this service. This fee does not apply for those who submit a copy of their valid Georgia Firearms License.
Participation
Participants must not have any criminal convictions or be under indictment or prosecution for any offense or be wanted for questioning or arrest by any law enforcement or government agency. Furthermore, participants must not have a history of mental illness or substance abuse or be taking any prescriptions that could inhibit course participation in a safe and responsible manner.
Age Requirement
At this time, Women For Arms requires course participants to be at least 18 years old. This policy will change in the near future when specialized training is offered for children and teens under 18 years old.
Participant Cancellation
If WFA receives at least 21 days advance cancellation notice, your payment may be fully refunded (less background check fee if applicable) or your payment may be credited to a future class. If cancellation notice is received 20 days or less prior to the course date, 50% of the participant payment (less back ground check fee if applicable) may be credited to a future class and he remaining 50% will be forfeited. Course tuition is non-transferable.
Women For Arms Cancellation
Women For Arms reserves the right to cancel any course at any time. A full refund will be issued to the course participants within 14 days from the date of cancellation Participants may instead choose to reapply the funds paid to a future course. Women For Arms is not responsible for any expense incurred by student due to cancellation.
Liability Waiver And Assumption Of Risk
Upon arriving at the course location, all participants will be asked to sign a document releasing Women For Arms from any liability that may occur during the course of training or anytime thereafter. A signed Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk form is required for participation in all WFA courses and private instruction.
Termination of Participation
A participant’s training may be terminated at any time during the course if the participant actions or language are not deemed appropriate by Women For Arms staff. Participants must abide by all safety procedures required of them. Participant’s terminated from training due to inappropriate or unsafe behavior / language are not eligible for tuition reimbursement.
Pregnant Women
Pregnant women may participate in firearms training with permission from their doctor. A copy of the doctor’s note should be included with the course registration form.
Offensive Language
In the interests of all of our students, we prohibit the use of profanity, racial slurs (used to describe people of a specific race, ethnicity, gender, or national origin), offensive and other objectionable language.
Alcohol and Drugs
The after effects of alcohol and recreational drug use can impair judgment, balance, and coordination for many hours (even days) following consumption. In the interests of providing a safe learning environment for our students, we recommend that course participants refrain from consuming alcohol or using recreational drugs at least 48 hours prior to attending training. Any individual showing up for class who appears hung-over or under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate in training activities.
